About the Congress

XV World Congress on Breast Diseases (WCBD) and the Third Shanghai Breast Cancer Symposium will be held from October 23rd to 26th at Shanghai Centre Theatre / The Portman Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Shanghai, China. Considered one of the most professional and accomplished scientific events, this biannual congress was initiated by Senologic International Society (SIS) from its foundation back in 1976 for achieving a multidisciplinary approach to breast diseases.

For 30 years, SIS includes all specialties involved in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and research of breast diseases all around the world. The past 14 Congresses already saw every corner of the world . This is the first time for SIS to choose China to convent the congress; it means SIS begins to attend the health of women in China and Asia.

The 15th Congress is specially co-hosted with Chinese Anti-Cancer Association's Committee of Breast Cancer Society (CBCS). As a professional domestic academic breast cancer organisation founded 22 years ago, it promptly expedites diagnosis and scientific research of breast cancer in China, and continuously increases communication between local and international experts, providing platforms and opportunities of international research and cooperation for Chinese breast cancer society. It's a common aim of SIS and CBCS to let the West meet the East.

In the span of four days, the congress will address topics covering various fields of breast diseases, which include the following: epidemiology, basic research, breast imaging, breast pathology, breast surgery, neoadjuvant, radiation therapy, adjuvant therapy, complimentary medicine & rehabilitation, metastatic breast cancer, and novel therapy & clinical trials.
